Greg Smith is executive vice president and the chief financial officer of The Boeing Company, the world's largest aerospace company. As CFO, Smith is responsible for overall financial management of the company, its financial reporting and transparency, and for multiple corporate functions including Controller, Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax and long-range planning.

Smith, 45, has extensive operational and financial experience in both the commercial and defense businesses of Boeing over nearly two decades of service with the company.

Smith was formerly Corporate Controller and Vice President, Finance, at Boeing beginning in February 2010. As a corporate officer and the company's principal interface with the board of directors' audit committee, Smith was charged with ensuring Boeing's financial disclosures and regulatory compliance remains timely, transparent and efficient.

Prior to that he was Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, leading business plan development, financial forecasting, financial analysis, capital commitment planning and competitive analysis and benchmarking.

Smith rejoined Boeing in 2008 after holding the position of Vice President of Global Investor Relations at Raytheon, where he developed and executed the company's investor relations strategy and served as the primary interface between management and the investment community.

Prior to joining Raytheon, Smith was the Controller for Boeing's Shared Services Group, overseeing that operation's financial accounting and reporting as well as financial planning. Before that, Smith was Director of Internal Audit at Boeing, holding enterprise-wide audit leadership responsibilities. He was also responsible for Boeing's Internal Audit Leadership Development programs. Smith's experience also includes key leadership roles in supply chain, factory operations, finance, and program management.

Smith holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He also holds certificates in design of manufacturing systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Operations Management from Harvard Business School.

Smith serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
